Sayeman Beach Resort and Sayeman Heritage's GM named South Asia’s best general manager at SATA 2024

Pubudu Fernando, cluster general manager of Sayeman Beach Resort and Sayeman Heritage, has been honoured with the prestigious Gold Award as South Asia’s Best General Manager at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2024.

In addition to Fernando's individual accolade, Sayeman Beach Resort secured the Silver Award for “Leading Beach Resort” in Bangladesh, while Sayeman Heritage was named the “Leading Heritage Hotel” in Bangladesh.

Fernando, who joined Sayeman Beach Resort in 2013 as the pre-opening general manager, has been instrumental in elevating the hotel's service standards to world-class levels, according to a press release.

Under his leadership, Sayeman Beach Resort has become the premier choice for travelers in Cox's Bazar and continues to maintain its status as a leading hospitality establishment in the region.

The South Asian Travel Awards, established in 2016, is recognized as one of the most credible awards in the region's travel and hospitality sector.

With endorsements from over 18 tourism organizations, SATA 2024 received more than 400 nominations, making this year’s competition exceptionally fierce.

Held in Kathmandu, the awards ceremony was supported by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN).

The event was graced by prominent figures, including Nepal's Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, and NTB CEO, Deepak Joshi, along with other board members and key figures from Nepal's travel industry.

SATA 2024 once again highlighted excellence in South Asian hospitality, bringing together some of the industry’s most renowned personalities for a star-studded gala.
