A case has been filed in court against three members of the Khulna Metropolitan Police in connection with the murder of Babul Kazi, vice president of Ward No 31 of the BNP in Khulna.
The court has accepted the case, as confirmed by the plaintiff's lawyer.
On Thursday morning, the wife of the deceased, Fatema Begum, filed the case in the court of Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Anisur Rahman.
The accused individuals are Additional Deputy Commissioner of KMP Sonali Sen, former Khulna Sadar police station officer-in-charge Ashraful Islam, and Sub-Inspecter Monir.
On March 29, 2021, Babul Kazi was seriously injured during a BNP program due to police assault. He passed away on April 11 of the same year.
Plaintiff's lawyer, Tawhidur Rahman Tushar, said that the court accepted the case and instructed the PBI to investigate. The court has set October 23 as the deadline for submitting the investigation report.
