Various houses, including MP Nizam Hazari's, attacked, looted in Feni

Miscreants have set fire to and looted the houses of former members of parliament Nizam Uddin Hazari and Alauddin Ahmed Chowdhury Nasim in Feni.

These incidents occurred following the news of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina leaving the country on Monday.

Sources report that after the army chief's speech to the nation and the news of Sheikh Hasina's resignation and departure, miscreants targeted the old house and garden house of former MP Nizam Uddin Hazari of the Feni-2 Constituency. Various furniture, as well as cows and goats from Hazari's garden house, were stolen during the attack.

On the same day in the evening, the house of former Feni-1 MP Ahmed Chowdhury Nasim in Barahipur was also looted and set on fire.

Additionally, Feni Municipal Building, five Feni police stations, the traffic office, Feni Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Shusen Chandra Sheel's office, Feni Municipality Mayor Nazrul Islam Swapan Miyaji's office, Feni Municipality Councillor Amir Hossain Bahar's house, and Councillor Md Manik's house were looted, with cars set on fire. Goods worth crores of taka were looted in various locations across the district.

Member Secretary of Feni district BNP Alal Uddin Alal said that the BNP never engages in the politics of looting and that he has always stood by the traders of Feni city and will continue to do so in the future.
