The houses of BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and three other leaders have been vandalized and doused in Chittagong.
The three other leaders are- Vice Chairman Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Chittagong City Unit BNP’s former convenor Shahadat Hossain, and City BNP Convener Ershad Ullah.
Separate attacks took place at the residences of the BNP leaders in Mehedi Bagh, Chatteshwari, Badsha Mia Road, and Panchlaish areas of the city around 8pm on Saturday.
BNP leaders alleged that Jubo and Chhatra League were behind the attack.
An arson attack was made in the house of Amir khosru, according to sources.
BNP leader Shahadat Hossain said vehicles at his house were also set on fire.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Kazi Mohammad Tarek Aziz said that he had heard about the attack on the houses of the education minister, city mayor, and BNP leaders.
Police are on the way to the spots, he added.
Wali Uddin Akbar, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station in the city, said that there were reports of setting fire to a car in front of Amir Khasru’s house. Police are on the scene.
Earlier, the residence of Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel in Chittagong’s Chashma Hill area came under attack on Saturday evening.
Protesters also set fire to the office of Chittagong-10 MP, Mohiuddin Bachchu, in the Wasa area, marking a violent escalation in the ongoing Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
