At least 10 people were injured in an attack by allegedly Chhatra League on students demonstrating for quota reform in Munshiganj's Supermarket area on Wednesday.
According to the protesting students and witnesses, the demonstrators, from various educational institutions, gathered in the area at around 11:30am, chanting slogans against quotas.
Suddenly, Chhatra League members, positioned on the opposite side of the road, reportedly attacked the protesters with sticks, dispersing them.
The violence left at least 10 students injured, and the police later brought the situation under control.
Munshiganj Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Aminul Islam said the demonstration had caused traffic on one side of the road.
When asked about the attack, he said it was still unclear who had carried it out but confirmed that several people had been injured.
