Efforts to salvage the sunken dredger continue.
The bodies of two workers from a dredger that sank in the Meghna River in Bhola district three days ago have been recovered.
The deceased have been identified as Md Ariful Islam and Nure Alam, residents of Bagharhat village in the upazila.
The diving team hired by the owner recovered the bodies around 3am on Tuesday.
Bidyut Kumar Barua, officer-in-charge of Bhola Ilisha River police station, confirmed the matter.
Earlier on Monday afternoon, a joint operation by the Naval Police, Coast Guard, and Fire Service found the sunken dredger.
Nure Alam was the owner of the sunken dredger. A diving team recovered their bodies from the dredger's cabin.
However, the private diving team is still working to recover the bodies of the three missing workers.
The dredger named “Afsana” sank after being hit by a lighter vessel.
The dredger, which had five people on board, went down in the Meghna River on Saturday night, leaving all five workers missing.
