A trader died of heat stroke in the scorching heat of Islampur upazila of Jamalpur on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Golam Rabbani, 48,a resident of the West Gilabari area of the Chinaduli Union, Rabbani Upazila. He used to trade chillies in Guthail market.
Islampur Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr AAM Abu Taher confirmed the information.
According to his family members, Golam Rabbani suddenly fell ill at his home around 11:30am. Later the locals took him to Islampur Upazila Health Complex. After being taken to the hospital, the doctors declared him dead.
Dr AAM Abu Taher said: “The man died before being brought to the hospital. But we think he died due to excessive heat.”
