The authorities have suspended the ban on traveling to Ruma in Bandarban.
The instruction was given in a notification signed by Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Didarul Alam on Friday.
As per the notification, during the joint operation on April 9, any kind of tourist travel was discouraged in Ruma upazila. The ban has been lifted now.
The prior directive stated that no jeep can be taken to any tourist places, and tourists should not be taken anywhere, even by waterways.
Tourists were not allowed to book hotel rooms or visit any spots in the upazila until the joint operation was over.
Earlier, KNF members attacked Sonali Bank and Krishi Bank in Bandarban's Thanchi upazila around 12:30pm and looted Tk15,00,000 from Sonali Bank and Tk2,45,000 from Krishi Bank.
They looted 14 weapons and ammunition from the police stationed in the bank and the Ansar members in the barracks.
During the robbery, bank manager Nezam Uddin was abducted by KNF armed terrorists. At that time, armed men entered the mosque located adjacent to the bank and took hostages and beat the worshipers who were performing Tarawi prayers.
Nine cases were filed in Ruma and Thanchi police stations over the incidents.
In the operation, the joint forces have so far arrested 58 people, including 20 women, and sent them to jail through the court.
