Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a youth with Tk16 lakh worth of fake notes, equipment and a machine to make fake currency in Bagerhat on Friday.
The arrestee was identified as Md Faisal Yunus, 30, son of Md Mojiuddin Sheikh of Kachua upazila.
Bagerhat Detective Branch (DB) Officer-in-Charge (OC) Swapan Kumar Roy said: “A team of DB conducted a drive on the 6th floor of Alhaj Abdul Gafur Plaza in front of Jadu Nath School and College.
“Faisal was arrested with the materials for making fake notes. The accused had been making fake notes by renting a house four months ago. Efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the gang, he said.
