Foreign Minister Dr AK Momen has said that the Awami League government has established Bangladesh as a developing, democratic state in the world.
“The independence of Bangladesh was achieved at the cost of millions of lives under the leadership of Bangabandhu and Awami League. Sheikh Hasina will never sell this country as long as she lives,” said Momen, the Awami League-nominated candidate for Sylhet-1 constituency, at a public meeting held in Sylhet city on Wednesday evening.
“During the current government's tenure, roads, railways, airports, hospitals, and educational institutions have been developed in Sylhet, spending thousands of crores of taka. Moreover, projects worth Tk1,500 crore have been taken up to increase civic amenities in the city.
“If we form the government, more projects will be undertaken for the development of Sylhet in the future. Arrangements will also be made so that the natural gas discovered in Sylhet is available to the common people,” he added.
The minister also called for voting in groups on January 7 to protect the country's well-being, progress, and continuity of development.
