Assam Bosti-Kaptai Road was constructed by the LGED to stimulate the rural economy through road connectivity and development. The road plays an important role in the economic activities of the area. This road is also playing a big role in the tourism sector.
In 2017, the road was cut off at several places due to landslides following heavy rains. Renovation of the road began in 2020 with a new design by the engineering team of LGED and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) at a cost of Tk39 crore.
The LGED implemented various development projects in Rangamati over the last two terms of the government at a cost of Tk1,400 crore.
