Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is exchanging views with the party's nomination form collectors from across the country for the 12th National Parliamentary Election at her official residence Ganabhaban.
Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and former captain of the Bangladesh Cricket Team, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, went to Ganabhaban as part of this event.
Both of them are seeking nominations for the boat symbol (Awami League's electoral symbol).
Shakib entered Ganabhaban at 9:55am on Sunday, while Mashrafe arrived at Ganabhaban at 10:55am.
Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has purchased the Awami League's nomination forms for Dhaka-10, Magura-1, and Magura-2 seats in the 12th parliamentary election.
Party sources have confirmed that he is receiving a boat ticket for Magura-1.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's meeting with party nomination seekers at Ganabhaban on Sunday, scheduled for 10am, was delayed due to the earlier publication of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam results.
Ahead of the meeting, nomination seekers were seen gathering outside Ganabhaban since the morning.
The ruling party has sold a total of 3,362 nomination forms ahead of the national elections slated for January 7.
Earlier on Friday, Awami League Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua signed a press release that said the party nomination board president will hold the meeting on Sunday at 10am.
