Air Force training aircraft crashes in Bogra

A training aircraft from the Bangladesh Air Force has crashed in Bogra. 

The incident occurred around 1:00pm on Sunday in the Shimulia village of Murail Union in Kahalu upazila. 

The pilots onboard the aircraft are safe, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The police and eyewitnesses report that the PT-6 training aircraft, which took off from Bogra Airport, crashed in a bamboo grove near the airfield around 1:00pm. 

The aircraft broke through the trees, and its descent ended in the ground, causing some locals to be alarmed. Many people rushed to the scene to witness the training aircraft, painted in a green color.

An eyewitness from Shimulia village, Sirajul Islam, mentioned that the training aircraft was performing maneuvers in the sky when suddenly it lost control and crashed into the bamboo grove.

Kahalu Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmud Hasan said that personnel from the Air Force promptly reached the accident site for rescue operations. Thankfully, the pilots are reported to be in good health. Following the incident, Air Force officials cordoned off the crash site.

Officials from the Bangladesh Air Force, on the condition of anonymity, have confirmed that no casualties resulted from this incident.
