A Sylhet-bound intercity train was stranded for about 20 minutes when a section of railway track in the Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar got bent due to the extreme heat.
The incident took place in the Dhopatila railway gate area on Sunday afternoon.
Nurul Mohaimin Milton, a journalist, said the Paharika Express train was stuck from 2:55pm to 3:14pm.
Railway maintenance workers arrived at the scene and applied water, sand, and mud to the railway track for approximately 20 minutes.
The train resumed its journey at 3:14pm after the track had cooled down.
Ripon Mia, a railway mechanic, explained that the rail track had become distorted and bent due to the intense heat.
