7 killed in truck-microbus collision in Narsingdi

At least seven people were killed and four others were injured in a head-on collision between a sand-laden truck and a microbus in Narsingdi’s Shibpur upazila early Friday.

Narsingdi Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the accident and said that five people were killed at the accident site. They are all passengers of the microbus.

Two died after being taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital. Four more seriously injured people have been sent to Dhaka, he added.

The fire service official also said that there are seven bodies in the morgue of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.

The accident occurred at Itakhola area of the upazila at around 3am on Friday, said Itakhola Highway police outpost in-charge Inspector Md Kabir Hossain, reports UNB.

Kabir said the Sylhet-bound microbus collided head-on with a sand-laden truck coming from the opposite direction on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.
