Jamaat leaders hold rally in Bogra after 10 years

After 10 years, the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islam had a protest rally under a banner “Ulama Mashayekh Parishad” in Bogra to protest the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden.

A huge procession was brought out from Baitur Rahman Central Mosque in the district town on Friday after Jummah prayer.

They took this strategy as the administration did not allow the use of party banners. The protest march passed the city's zero point Satmatha towards Baragola. From there, it went to Satmatha again and ended at Baitur Rahman Central Mosque.

They were giving various religious chants from the procession. The activists also chanted Jamaat-e-Islami Zindabad slogans.

A large number of law enforcement personnel were in front and behind the procession. Besides, law and order forces were deployed in the city to prevent any sabotage from the protest march.

A brief rally was also held in front of the mosque after and before the start of the protest march.

They also said that they could not hold meetings for a long time. They hope the administration will not stop their peaceful activities anymore.

Leaders said Sweden's state-sponsored burning of the Holy Quran has set fire to the hearts of Muslims around the world. Sweden's government will soon have to apologize to the world.

Those involved should be arrested and punished severely. If not, Sweden will be burnt to ashes by the fire that is burning in the hearts of Muslims all over the world, they added.

Meanwhile, hundreds of leaders and activists from different places and madrasas of the district came to the city before the jummah prayer centring the program.
