Police have so far arrested a total of 130 people for their alleged involvement in the recent communal riots at the Chowmuhani market area in Noakhali's Begumganj upazila.
The arrests were made against a total of 18 cases filed in the district over the recent incident, confirmed Superintendent of Police Shahidul Islam on Thursday, reports Bangla Tribune.
The cases were filed against 285 named and 4,000-5,000 unnamed accused over charges of assault, vandalism, looting, arson and murder.

Earlier on Friday, a man named Jatan Kumar Saha, 42, died after he was injured during a communal riot in Chowmuhani.
A group of mullahs brought out a procession at the Chowmuhani market area protesting the reported desecration of the Holy Quran in Comilla.
They attacked several temples located around the market, carried out vandalism, and set fire to various establishments of the temples at the time.
They also vandalised some shops and business facilities in the market.
The next day, the body of 20-year-old Pranto Das was recovered from a pond next to the ISKCON temple in Chowmuhani.
