A Faridpur court on Wednesday sent a madrasa teacher to jail in a case filed over the rape of a male student at the district’s Sadarpur upazila.
The accused was identified as Ali Akbar, 23, a teacher at Jamia Islamia Madrasa.
Last Monday, the 10-year-old student was raped after he went to sleep at night in his bed at the madrasa.
The next morning, the boy’s mother went to the madrasa after she learned that he was crying from pain. At that time, the boy told his mother what had happened.
Later, police detained Ali after receiving a complaint and a tip-off.
Sadarpur police station OC Subrata Goldar said the mother filed the case against Akbar Tuesday night.
