Two people were killed and one injured after a truck hit a van in Dinajpur’s Birganj upazila on Friday.
The incident was reported around 10am on the local Birganj-Thakurgaon highway.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Bashed, 60 and Bacchu, 50, who were travelling on the van.
Sub-Inspector Safiul Islam of Dinajpur Dosh Mile Highway Police Station said the truck lost control and hit the van, killing the two on the spot. The bodies have been kept at the Birganj Upazila Health Complex.
The van driver, Altafur, 23, suffered severe injuries and is being treated in the same hospital.
Police have seized the truck, however the truck's driver managed to escape, said the police officer.
