The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has rescued the fourth of the four schoolboys abducted from Ramu upazila in Cox's Bazar.
Fourteen-year-old Mizanur Rahman was rescued around 5:30am on Saturday, hours after his three schoolmates, who were also abducted allegedly by Rohingya men, were rescued.
RAB and the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) conducted joint drives overnight to find the kidnapped boy.
On Friday evening, law enforcers rescued the three others, Md Kaiser, 14, Mizanur Rahman Nayan, 14, and Jahedul Islam, 15, in separate drives in Teknaf’s Shalbonn hills on Friday.
The APBn has detained three Rohingyas on charges of being involved in the abduction.
On Tuesday, the four schoolboys were abducted from Khuniapalong union in Ramu upazila for ransom. They are all students of Sonarpara High school.
A complaint was lodged with Ramu police station by their families on Wednesday, said OC Arup Kumar Chowdhury.
According to the complaint, two Rohingyas, Jahangir Alam and Md Ibrahim, recently became acquainted with the teenagers and took them away to Hoaikong of Teknaf on the pretext of taking them on a trip to Saint Martin’s Island.
