Police have handed over six people to the International Crimes Tribunal after arresting them from Jessore for their suspected involvement in crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War.
Bagharpara police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Firoz Uddin confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
The arrestees are Abul Hossain Biswas, Hossain Ali, Abu Bakkar, Lutfar Rahman, Khoibar Rahman and Nur Islam.
A team led by Detective Branch of police OC Rupon Sarkar and OC Firoz Uddin arrested the suspects on Sunday from different parts of the Bagherpara upazila.
Earlier, police received the arrest warrant on Saturday.
A case was filed against the six in 2017. After an investigation, the tribunal issued warrants for their arrest on October 21 this year.
