Low in Bay of Bengal: Cautionary signal 3 for maritime ports, signal 1 for river ports

The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist the cautionary signal 3 as low pressure has formed over the northern bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

The river ports have been directed to hoist cautionary signal one.

Light to moderate rain and heat accompanied by humidity is likely to persist over the next couple of days, meteorologist Monowar Hossain told the media on Monday.

According to a Met office forecast, the low pressure formed over the coast off India’s Telangana and adjoining area still persists.

Fishing boats and trawlers have been advised to maintain caution while going into the waters.

Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna and Barisal divisions and at many places over Chittagong, Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over southern part of the country, said the met office forecast.
