An 8-year-old girl and two others were injured when stones were thrown at a moving train in Comilla late on Friday.
Police said that the Noakhali-bound Upakul Express from Dhaka was stoned around 8.30pm near the Banasua Bridge in the district’s Adarsha Sadar upazila.
An investigation has been launched into the matter, said OC Md Jasim Uddin of the railway police station in Comilla’s Laksham.
More than 100 incidents of stoning moving trains have been reported in the last nine months till September this year, Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan told the media earlier this month.
"Twenty-nine people suffered injuries while 103 window panes of different train bogies were damaged," he told a press briefing.
The railway authorities have already identified where these incidents occur frequently, according to the minister.
