Tourist dies while bathing on Cox's Bazar beach

A tourist died while taking bath at Sugandha Point of Cox's Bazar beach on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased is identified as Mohammad Saad, 25, son of Ahsan Ullah, a resident of Dhaka's Jatrabari area, Cox's Bazar Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Abu Sufyan confirmed. 

Belal, a beach worker, said: "Saad went for a walk with his family members at Cox's Bazar Sugandha Point around 2pm. At one point, they took a bath at the beach. During this time, Saad was swept away by the strong current. The matter was immediately brought to the attention of his family and the lifeguards and beach attendants present at the scene. They promptly rescued him and took him to Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital in an unconscious state, where the duty doctor declared him dead.”

The body has been kept in Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
