BNP previously assumed power through the backdoor, Education Minister Dipu Moni has said.
“On the other hand, Awami League never came to power through anything but free, fair, and impartial elections,” she said at the tri-annual conference of the Tangail district unit Jubo League on Saturday.
BNP is once again trying to disrupt the peace and order of the country and create anarchy, said the minister.
“They know that a free and neutral election cannot lead them to power,” she added.
The minister later said that Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) polls was a victory for democracy, and the government had assisted the Election Commission in every way.
“Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking Bangladesh forward with a dream and Bangladesh is moving forward at an unstoppable speed,” she said.
Dipu Moni said that Bangladesh has become the 35th economy in the world. “Today, Bangladesh is leading the world in all fields related to agriculture and food. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is leading this Bangladesh.”
She added that the youth of Bangladesh are the future of the country. “It is the responsibility of the youth to ensure boat's victory in the upcoming elections. We must convey Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's words to the masses in every constituency.”
Bangladesh Awami League Presidium Member and Agriculture Minister Mohammad Abdur Razzaque was the chief guest.
Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, chairman of Jubo League, the youth wing of the ruling Awami League inaugurated the event.
