Noakhali District Police Line Constable Raisul Amin Badan, 30, died after being attacked by rivals at his home Basra village at Daudkandi upazila on Sunday.
His mother Rokeya Begum, 50, and brother Sumon Sarkar, 32, were undergoing treatment as they were also injured in the attack, police said.
He was taken to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at 2pm on Sunday where he was declared dead by doctors.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police outpost Md Masud Mia confirmed the matter. He said the matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
Sumon Sarkar, the injured brother of the deceased constable, said that 25-30 locals including Din Islam, Manik, Saddam, Hashem, Farhad, Mehedi attacked their house on Sunday morning, and injured them and vandalized the house and set it on fire.
Badan was the son of retired military man Ali Ahmed of Basra village in Daudkandi Sadar upazila.
