Chuadanga sizzles as temperature hits season’s highest at 41°C

Chuadanga recorded this season's highest temperature in Bangladesh at 41°C on Thursday.

Jaminur Rahman, the person in charge of the Chuadanga Weather Observatory Centre, said the temperature was recorded at 3pm.

The district has been experiencing the highest temperatures logged in the country for 12 consecutive days and the intensity of the ongoing heatwave is only increasing day after day, said the official.

The heatwave may persist for a few more days and the temperature may rise further, Jaminur Rahman warned.

However, the humidity in the air has decreased, standing at 15% on Thursday, he added.

The scorching heat has been disrupting the everyday lives of people, and most of them are avoiding going outside unless absolutely necessary.
