Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two people from Dhaka for their alleged involvement in assaulting a journalist in Chittagong.
The arrestees are Md Alauddin, and Md Faruk. They were arrested for Dhaka's Kamalapur.
RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director Nurul Abshar said the miscreants attacked Ayub Miyaji for publishing news about illegal hill razing. Ayub Miyaji made a series of reports on the matter.
In this regard, Ayub Miyaji said on April 4, some 10-12 people, including Alauddin and Faruk attacked him, and threw him from the second floor of a building. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media recently.
Ayub Miyaji's father, Abdur Shukkur, filed a case against six-seven people with Chittagong's Chandanaish police station.
“My son wrote some reports on hill razing, and hence he was attacked by people involved with the illegal activity,” he said.
The journalist is currently being treated at Chittagong Medical College.
