The police on Saturday morning recovered the body of the driver of the car of a Russian official of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in the Kheyaghat area of Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia.
The deceased was Samrat Ali, 26, son of Abu Bakkar, resident of Ishwardi upazila of Pabna and was the driver at a company named RDB of the power plant.
Md Mohosin, officer-in-charge of Kumarkhali police station, confirmed the matter.
A team of police from Ishwardi police station detained a woman in this connection.
According to police and local sources, the Land Cruiser car used by the Russian official of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant had been lying abandoned near Sadipur Ghat in Kumarkhali for the last two days.
As bad odour was coming out from the vehicle in the morning, locals informed the police.
Later, police visited the spot and recovered the body of Samrat in a gunnysack inside the car, said the OC.
An investigation is going on in this regard, said the police official.
