A four-member committee has been formed under additional district magistrate to investigate the road accident on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway at Shibchar in Madaripur.
Shibchar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Rajibul Islam confirmed the information Sunday afternoon.
He said: “A committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the accident. They have been asked to report within two working days.”
Earlier, a bus of Emad Paribahan leaving Khulna at around 7:30am lost control and fell down the expressway in Shibchar's Qutubpur area. In this incident, 19 people have died so far and at least 30 people were injured.
Among the injured, three persons are admitted in Islami Hospital of Shibchar, one person in Life Care Hospital, one person in Royal Hospital and some are admitted in various hospitals of Shibchar. Seven people are admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
