3 college students die as vehicle runs over motorcycle in Sirajganj

Three college students were killed when a car ran over their motorcycle in Sirajganj on Monday morning.

The accident took place on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway at Mannan Nagar area in Tarash upazila around 7am. 

Among the deceased, two were identified as Alamgir Hossain, 22, son of Barek Sarker of Belkuchi upazila and Sujon Hossain, son of Helal Uddin of Puthia upazila in Rajshahi. The identity of the remaining one is yet to be found.

All the victims were students of Natore City College.

Badrul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Hatikumrul highway police station, said the victims were going to Natore from Sirajganj by motorcycle. When their motorcycle reached the Mannan Nagar area, an unidentified vehicle hit them from behind and ran them over. 

“At that time, they died on the spot,” he said. 

“Later, police went to the spot and recovered their bodies. The vehicle that ran them over is yet to be identified. However, we found out, they were all students of Natore City College,” he added.
