A Chittagong court sent a police constable to jail in a case filed over torture and pornography on Saturday.
Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Oli Ullah ordered Rubel Miah, 35, to be sent to jail in the case filed by a female police member of the city's Chandgaon police station.
The accused police constable was working at the Shikalbaha police outpost of Karnaphuli police station.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Islam said a case was registered against Constable Rubel at Chandgaon police station on Saturday under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and the Pornography Control Act.
According to the case file, Constable Rubel took private photos and videos of the female police member. He blackmailed her by threatening to publish them on social media.
