Valentine's day: Kuakata beach abuzz with colour of love

The festival is going on along the beach with tourists. The tourists are dressed in colorful clothes. Many are buying flowers for loved ones. Those flowers are being gifted to loved ones in different ways, and the photographers are capturing them on camera. Many are taking selfies with loved ones on the beach. Many people are riding horses or water bikes. 

Other tourist spots in Kuakata also have an enthusiastic presence of tourists.

Meanwhile, special measures have been taken by the police for the safety of tourists.

Musfiq, a tourist from Benapole, said: "I came to Kuakata for the first time. I got married three months ago. I came to Kuakata with my wife to celebrate the day of love. I gave different gifts to my wife including roses. The photographer took pictures of our gift giving. The day is being spent very well in nature.”

Solaiman-Sonia couple came from Mehrepur. Sonia said: 'We came to Kuakata on Monday. I will celebrate Valentine's Day sitting here on the beach.``

Ruman Imtiaz Tushar, president of Kuakata Tour Operators Association (TOWAC), said: "On the occasion of spring festival and valentine's Day, tourists did not come as expected. Hotels in Kuakata are 50/60% booked. More tourists come to Kuakata during public holidays. But, there are a little more tourists than other days in this festival.”

Motaleb Sharif, general secretary of Kuakata Hotel-Motel Owners Association, said: "At the beginning of the week there are not many tourists. But on Tuesday there are more tourists than Monday. We have several hotel bookings.”
Kuakata Tourist Police Zone Inspector Hasnain Parvez said that additional police have been deployed at various spots to provide security to tourists. Besides, there are patrol teams in the field.
