Habiganj teacher M Mukhlishur Rahman handed over a gift car (microbus) to Ashraful Hossen Alom, better known as Hero Alom, which he had decided to use as an ambulance for patients in times of emergency.
He received the gift while visiting Narpati village of Chunarughat upazila in Habigang Tuesday afternoon.
Alom said: “I have accepted the gifted car, but I will not use it myself. There are many helpless people who cannot go to the hospital in an ambulance due to an accident or an emergency. So, this car will be made into an ambulance and used for the welfare of people.”
M Mukhlishur Rahman said that there had been a lot of criticism over the announcement of presenting the car on behalf of Sylhet division. “I have kept my word and answered all the criticisms by handing over the car,” he added.
On January 31, ahead of the by-election for Bogra-4 and Bogra-6 constituencies, the headmaster of Haji Abdul Jabbar GL Academy and High School of Habiganj's Chunarughat upazila, M Mukhlishur Rahman, went live on his Facebook page and expressed his desire to gift a car to Hero Alom.
After posting several other videos, Hero Alom finally contacted with the teacher and went to meet him.
