Clash over badminton leaves 2 stabbed dead in Cox’s Bazar

Two people were stabbed to death following a clash over badminton in Cox's Bazar on Monday night.

The incident took place at around 11:30pm at the Larpara area near Cox's Bazar Central Bus Terminal. 

The deceased have been identified as Saidul Islam, 32, and Kaisar Hamid, 28. 

Cox's Bazar Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Nazmul Haque said the two groups went to Larpara area to play badminton as usual on Monday night. Later at around 11:30am, a clash took place between the groups, following an argument over the game. 

“The victims were taken to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, where the doctors declared them dead,” added the OC.

Resident Medical Officer of Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital Dr Ashiq Ahmed said that the victims died due to excessive blood loss. “They were stabbed in different parts of the body.”

Two other people were also injured in the clash.
