Two worshippers died during Bishwa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of the Muslims, on the bank of the Turag River at Tongi on Thursday.
The deceased are Nurul Haque, 63, and Abu Taleb, 90.
Engineer Abdun Noor, a member of the organizing committee of Bishwa Ijtema, said that Taleb died at 10am due to old age while Nurul Haque was suffering from asthma. Nurul Haque died in the morning when he was staying at the Ijtema Maidan.
The two bodies were handed over to their relatives after the funeral at the Ijtema Maidan after Zuhr prayers in the afternoon.
