BNP leader Arefin laid to rest in Panchagarh

BNP leader Abdur Rashid Arefin, who was killed during a clash with the police in Panchagarh, was laid to rest at his family graveyard on Sunday. 

His namaj-e-janaza was held at Pathraj Haripur village graveyard of Maidandighi union of Boda upazila of the district.

Earlier in the afternoon, another namaj-e-janaza was held at Haripur Jot-Debikanto Government Primary School ground.

Arefin's body was handed over to the family members after the post-mortem on Sunday afternoon. When Arefin's body reached his home, the entire village started mourning. 

Arefin's elderly mother Anwara Begum, wife Chameli Begum and 11-year-old son Abdullah Al Mahi repeatedly broke down in tears.

On Sunday, A large number of leaders and workers, top leaders of 12 party alliances and like-minded political parties attended a namaj-e-janaza held in front of BNP's central office in Naya Paltan of the capital.

Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, member of the BNP standing committee, gave a short speech before the janaza. Later, a special prayer was offered for Arefin's departed soul.
