Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said the prices of daily essentials will hopefully go down once the war between Russia and Ukraine stops.
He was speaking to reporters in Rangpur on Wednesday.
He said that the value of the dollar needs to stabilize for the price hike issues to be solved.
The minister said the prices of various types of vegetables and even onions have dropped a lot this winter. However, it is difficult to talk about the possibility of reducing the prices of products that have to be imported, especially pulses, oil and sugar. The price of these products in the world market is fluctuating continuously.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi speaking to reporters in Rangpur Dhaka TribuneHe said: “Our sales activities on various products will continue through the TCB until the supply of daily essentials reaches a tolerable level.”
Tipu Munshi added that the city dwellers hope that the Rangpur City Corporation elections on December 27 will be fair and neutral.
Regarding BNP's movement, the minister said if BNP believes in democracy then they have to participate in the elections and only then the country will be at peace. Anarchy will do no good.
