Bogra hospital fined 1L for using expired reagents

A private hospital has been fined Tk1 lakh for using expired reagents in the Thanthania area of Bogra. 

Eftekharul Alam Rizvi, assistant director of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, imposed the fine on Tuesday during a drive at Saik General Hospital as outdated reagents were found at the pathology department of the hospital. 

Members of law enforcement agencies assisted him during the drive. 

According to sources, the raid  was carried out as part of a regular drive. 

Apart from fines, the hospital authorities have been warned not to do such things in future, said the official. 

Such drives will continue in the public interest, he added.
