Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Chittagong, the economic capital of Bangladesh, on Sunday morning.
She reached Bangladesh Military Academy in Bhatiari at 10:30am to see the presidential parade of the 83rd BMA Long Course. Chief of Army Staff SM Shafiuddin Ahmed was also present at the time.
Later in the day the prime minister will attend a rally at the historic Polo Ground stadium in the city.
Sheikh Hasina, who is also president of the ruling Awami League, will address the political gathering at 3pm, according to party leaders.
She will inaugurate 30 projects and lay the foundation stones of four others in Chittagong.
