Ijtema attendees offer prayers for Bangabandhu in Tungipara

Attendees of an Ijtema, which is being held in Tungipara, visited the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The Ijtema includes at least 100,000 Muslim devotees from 20 southwestern districts of Bangladesh, and they are part of three chillas (spiritual retreats).

The gathering is being held at the Gauhardanga Madrasa premises, just 2km from the mausoleum of Father of the Nation.

Hence, many participants took the chance to visit the site and pray for the departed soul of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The pilgrims also visited Bangabandhu's birthplace, ancestral home, and other sites. Many of them said it was their first visit there.
