A student of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet) died on Friday while trying to get down from a moving train on Joypurhat railway station platform.
The incident happened around 4am on Friday.
The deceased is Tanveer Md Rezwanul Haque Rahul, 23.
Santahar Railway police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moktar Hossain confirmed the matter.
Moktar Hossain said that while leaving the train station, he quickly tried to get down from the moving train on the platform. At that time, he slipped under the train and died on the spot.
In this regard, the station master filed a wrongful death case at the police station.
Witnesses and relatives said that Tanveer Md Rezwanul Haque Rahul is the only child of deceased ATM Shahriar of Natmarichai Kalipara of Shibganj in Bogra. After his father's death, he lived with his grandfather, the veteran teacher Afzal Hussain Master.
Rahul passed SSC in 2016 from Shibganj Pilot High School with GPA-5. He was admitted to the Armed Police Battalion Public School and College of Bogra city. From there in 2018 he passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) with GPA-5. He dreamt of becoming an engineer since childhood and was studying in the third year of the Department of Leather Engineering in Kuet.
