Two separate road accidents in Faridpur and Bhola have left at least five people dead and 10 others injured.
In Faridpur, a bus crashed into a tree on the Dhaka-Barisal highway in Bhanga upazila at around 3am on Sunday, killing four passengers of the vehicle and injuring 10.
The deceased are Marina Akter, 32, Junayed, 3, Humayun Kabir, 48, and Abdul Rouf Hawlader, 50.
The injured are undergoing treatment at the local upazila health complex.
Bhanga highway police station OC Md Taimur Islam said the driver had lost control of the vehicle and it was totally wrecked now.
Two people had died on the spot and another two at Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, he added.
In Bhola, a woman was run over and killed by a goods-laden truck in the Veduriya area of Bhola Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ajufa Begum, 40.
According to locals and the police, Ajufa was returning home on an autorickshaw when the truck collided head-on with the three-wheeler. She fell out in the impact of the crash and got run over by the truck.
Velumiya police investigation centre in-charge Md Golam Mostafa said the law enforcement agency was trying to track down the driver of the truck.
