A group of miscreants killed a member of the banned extremist organization Purba Banglar Sarbahara Party in Ekdante area of Atgharia in Pabna on Wednesday.
The incident took place at Oli intersection in Ekdante, reports Bangla Tribune.
The deceased- Abu Musa, 40, is the son of Oli Ullah of Chanchkia Diyarpara of Ekdante Union. He surrendered to the police a few years ago.
Ekdante union chairman Liakat Hossain Alal said that Musa was playing carrom behind a tea shop at Oli intersection on Wednesday afternoon. At that time some miscreants came and shot him dead and left.
Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police Masud Alam said that the police visited the spot after receiving the information. It is believed that he was shot dead due to an internal dispute within the organization.
Police later recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
