7 Jhenaidah Chhatra League men suspended over deaths of 3 activists

Seven leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have been suspended in connection with Friday’s attack and death of three of its activists.

The suspended students are- Fahim Hasan Sony, vice president, Bodiuzzaman Airf, joint general secretary of BCL district unit, Rohiul Islam, organizing secretary and activists Farhad (2), Niyon, Fardad (1) and Mustakin.

The suspension order was made in a notice signed by its district unit general secretary Al-Imran.

Besides, a recommendation has been made to the central committee to expel them, mentioned in the notice.

Saidur Rahman Murad, 25, vice president of the student council of Jhenaidah Government Veterinary College, and students of the same college Touhidul Islam, 23, and Shamresh Kumar, 22, all of whom were activists of the student wing of the ruling Awami League, were killed reportedly in a road crash on Friday after being chased by their rival group. 

Family members and friends of three students of Jhenaidah Veterinary College, who were apparently killed in a motorbike crash, claimed that they were stabbed to death and the attack incident was staged as an accident.

Police arrested two people in a case filed in connection with the clash.
