Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaque said that the Awami League government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is determined to build a non-communal Bangladesh.
However, a vested quarter is very active in the country against the non-communal spirit, said the minister.
He came up with the remark while visiting various temples and exchanging greetings with Hindus in Tangail's Dhanbari upazila on Monday morning.
The opposition wants to come in power by using communal spirit and religion as a tool for their political gain and to exploit and rule the people of the country, said Razzaque, also presidium member of Awami League.
“We all have to be aware of this evil force,” he said.
Dhaka Tribune“In this festival, everyone must take an oath collectively; we will resist this communal power and uproot it from Bangla,” said the minister.
He also said that if anyone wants to create any sabotage centering Durga Puja, strict action will be taken against them.
The five-day Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, is being celebrated across the country amid enthusiasm and festive mood.
The celebration will end through the immersion of idols of goddess Durga on Bijoya Dashami on October 5.
