A woman in Kushtia has allegedly stabbed her husband of one month to death, following a family feud.
The incident took place in ward no 11 of Kushtia Municipality on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Sabbir Ahmed.
Sabbir’s second wife, Rojoni Khatun fled after the incident, said locals.
They added that Rojoni and Sabbir got married last year. Following a family dispute at night, Rojoni allegedly used sharp weapons to stab Sabbir in his sleep.
After hearing screams, family members rushed to the spot and took injured Sabbir to Kushtia General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 7am, said the victim’s cousin Tamim Hossain.
Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Delwar Hossain Khan said a murder case will be filed over the incident.
