BCL leader hacked to death in Cox’s Bazar

A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader in Cox’s Bazar was hacked to death on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Faisal Uddin, son of Lal Mohammad of South Delpara area of Khurushkul Union.

The incident took place at around 7pm, when Faisal was returning home from an Awami League conference, said Cox's Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Rafiqul Islam.

Police and witnesses say, around 10-12 people, led by locals Zaheer and Aziz attacked Faisal with sharp weapons. He was severely injured and died while being rushed to a nearby hospital by locals.

The body is kept at Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital for autopsy. “Legal action will be taken after investigation,” said the ASP.
