Classes at Haji Yunus Ali School and College in Ashulia resumed after a five-day shutdown on Saturday, following the murder of a teacher by a student.
Primary school classes started at around 7:30am and secondary and college classes began around 11am, said Saiful Islam, principle of the school.
"As per the announcement given on Friday, we have opened our school today (Saturday). All teachers and students came to the institution in the morning, and began their classes,” he told Bangla Tribune.
He further demanded exemplary punishment for the killers of the slain teacher Utpal Kumar Sarkar.
Meanwhile, authorities have suspended a female student over her alleged involvement with the prime accused of the case, Ashraful Ahsan Jitu.
The decision was taken at the college's academic council on Thursday, said Saiful Islam.

Meanwhile, Dhaka district’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Maruf Hossain Sarder on Friday said Haji Yunus Ali School and College will be under tight security.
Ashraful Islam Jitu was expelled from his school on Friday.
On Wednesday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Jitu, and the next day, a Dhaka court granted police five days to interrogate him in custody.
Jitu beat up Utpal on June 25, in order to impress a girl, according to RAB.
Utpal had directed him to refrain from hanging out with the girl.
Utpal was taken to an area hospital and later to Enam Medical College and Hospital, where he eventually died while receiving treatment on June 27.
