Narail teacher assault: Students banned from using mobiles in class

Narail District Administration has issued a notification to ban the use of mobiles by students of all secondary and higher secondary institutions, over the incident of forcing a teacher to wear a garland of shoes.

Students and parents have also been instructed to report to all educational institutions after the Eid-ul-Azha holiday to discuss the matter, said a notice issued by District Education Officer SM Sayedur Rahman.

"Education administrators and district administrators will inspect educational institutions to monitor the implementation of the guidelines. If any mobile is found in possession of a student during the inspection, they will take disciplinary action against all concerned,” the notice said.

The District Administration further explained that despite the fact students are prohibited from bringing phones to class, the rules are not being followed properly.

“Students have been sharing controversial posts on their social accounts, creating an embarrassing situation for authorities. A student of Mirzapur United Degree College and an eighth-grader of Mirzapur Secondary School have created an extremely undesirable situation with their online posts. As a result, the two institutions had to be temporarily closed,” it added.
